Age

What is the age requirement? The Wranglers consist of 6 - 11 year olds, the Jr. Rangerettes consist of 11 - 14 year olds and the Sr. Rangerettes consist of 14 - 18 year olds.

Basics

What is Color Guard? Color guard is a performing arts program that coordinates the spinning of flag, rifle, and sabre and dance into an entertaining four minute show. It is one of the most unique activities in the world today. Props, music, costumes and choreography are used to create an artistic, athletic, entertaining, and competitive show. Friendships are created for a lifetime.

Cost

How much does it cost? The fee for Rangerettes is $175 for the year. The fee for Jr. Rangerettes is $125 for the year. The fee for Wranglers is $75 for the year. This includes equipment, uniform, shoes, transportation and housing when necessary. Members may be required to purchase their own make-up and meals on competition weekends. We do have various fundraisers to help members work money off of their dues. We will work with you.

Experience

Is experience necessary? No, we will teach your child everything he or she needs to know. Your child will also learn to set goals and achieve them, teamwork, respect and responsibility.

Practices

Where and when are practices held? During the months of June, July and August, practices are held at Kennedy Field on Sylvia Dr. in Brook Park. Practices are on Wednesdays from 6 - 9 pm. During the months of September to May, we practice at the Brook Park Recreation Center on Holland Road. Practices are on Sundays from 5 - 9 pm. We also practice occasionally on Saturday's. Season

When does it start? Registration begins in May and runs through August. The winterguard season starts in September. Competition begins in January and ends in April. During the summer we participate in local parades.
